Liberty India General Insurance commenced operations in 2013 providing retail, commercial and industrial insurance solutions.

Challenge

Microsoft has announced end of support for Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise or Standard and SQL Server 2008 R2.

Liberty had to either upgrade on-premise or move to cloud.

SAP recommends patching of Support Packages to keep applications up to date on a regular basis.

Solution

-SAP Landscape was transformed from on premise DC to AWS Cloud.
-AWS was the best fit solution for their infrastructure to optimize cost.
-AWS provides the option to upgrade Application Support Pack Stacks as desired for ECC Landscape.
-Liberty has to Upgrade to the Windows server 2016 Enterprise or Standard and SQL Server 2016 R2.
-SAP ERP Production is to be migrated to MSFC.
-SAP Business Objects 4.2 is to be installed on AWS.
-SAP Business Objects reports are to be Migrated by Using PM.
-SAP Solutions Manager 7.2 is to be Installed at AWS.

Benefits

End of Support was solved by AWS EMP (End-Of-Support Migration Program) for Windows Server.

Liberty has migrated their legacy ERP applications to supported version of Windows Server on AWS without any code changes.

The ERP system stays secure and compliant by mitigating the challenges occurred by EOS by following EMP.

Performance has improved due to adaptation of the AWS compared to the on-premise infrastructure.
